One of the local quirks my roommate and I have been laughing about this morning is the tendency of locals to give directions that cannot be followed by non-natives.
An example: "Well, to find Rigdon's (a chicken take-out place - really good, too), you have to turn where Westinghouse used to be".
And, where might that non-existent landmark be located?
I found out later, that Rigdon's doesn't have a sign. Apparently, if you have to ask where it is, tough. Y'all should just know where it is.
I'll sometimes try to verify "you mean on Elm Street?" only to be answered "well, I don't know the name of the street". Kinda hard to get around, sometimes.
